Fast-Growth
Our school district is the 5th fastest growing school district in the state of Texas. Over the past few years, we have been growing 10-15% each school year. MVISD serves about 9,600 students throughout our nine campuses. We currently have one high school, two middle schools and six elementary schools. High School #2 is currently under construction.
To help keep up with the growth, the Medina Valley ISD community has passed two recent bond elections in May 2023 and May 2024.
The May 2023 Bond for $376 million included the following projects:
- High School #2
- Safety & Security Updates
- Traffic Improvements
- Medina Valley HS Agricultural & JROTC Facility
- Land Purchases
The May 2024 Bond for $290 million included the following projects:
- Middle School #3
- Elementary #7
- Elementary #8
- Medina Valley HS Physical Education Facility Improvements
- Safety & Security Updates
- Land Purchases
The committee’s charge and purpose is to:
- Provide accountability to the community by monitoring the progress of bond projects approved by Medina Valley ISD voters;
- Review the financial status of the voter-approved bond program through periodic financial reports;
- Ensure transparency to enhance public confidence in the use of proceeds from the sale of these bonds;
- and report updates and findings to the Board of Trustees as needed.
The Bond Oversight Committee will meet quarterly, and all meeting presentations and summaries will be shared with the public.
