NWEA MAP in the classroom NWEA MAP Our MVISD teachers speak about the benefits of NWEA MAP and how it's used in the classroom. Show Transcript is an Adaptive test that we use in the beginning of the year middle of the year at the end of the year it starts a student where they are and progressively goes harder easier harder easier and questioning until I can find out the rigor in which the student can answer I try to compare it to like Goldie locks in the 3 Bears where it's trying to find that spot that's just right there's supposed to be a dying for you to miss some of the questions because we're trying to find right there in the center where those students are ready to learn and what they're able to achieve every student has that right to to grow and to learn more more than they than they knew before and map gives us the tools to assess that growth and so it gives us that data point that we can go back and reference just to Monitor and make sure they're growing but what's really great about it is that when we get those results we get to sit with the kiddos and show them that they're making grow so they can see that pride and that excitement as they Advanced I can see from last year when you started look how you're growing and up 1 great thing about map is that it there are reports that have you goal set with your students so students can see where they started at the beginning of the year they can see which instructional areas they were stronger at and weaker at and you can have discussions over what our plan is like student and teacher and in the class to make sure they grow in the areas that they really need to its magic it's um I've seen kids go from Everly lower level than where they should be at any available and see them grow by the time spring comes and they're ready to go on the high school they just feel so much excitement and success it's a very exciting moment it's like you're so excited when you finally see like the light bulb goes on they get it and you're like I was a part of that I helped them connect the dots to help them see something in a different way so it's very rewarding Print
