The 95 Percent Phonics Program 95 Percent Phonics Program Show Transcript hey it's worm to the end there we go everyone points to the valve up here we're going to decide if it is a phonogram or not sort it in the correct category where it goes got it got it the 95% program is a program that helps students learn how to decode letters and sounds identify words and be able to read them fluently in a passage phonogram i l it's important because they need to be able to understand that way when they're reading they're not focusing so much on sounding out every single letter if they can recognize the spelling pattern quickly it makes it easier for them to read more fluently closed syllable tight when I tell them that we're doing 95 phonics they get excited they're literally like yay what is that reading is important for their daily life they have to be able to read for the rest of their lives and it helps them with their fluency so does it go times the kids will recognize the patterns outside of the phonics context to see a word with a phonogram they'll tell me hey you know there's a word with a phonogram that's what we're learning this week in phonics so it's really cool to see them be able to realize that Print
