(MEDINA VALLEY ISD – March 27, 2024) — Castroville Elementary interim principal Gerri Butler has officially been appointed as principal.
Medina Valley ISD Board of Trustees approved Butler as principal at the March board meeting. She had been interim principal of the campus since late fall.
“I am truly thankful for the opportunity to serve as the Castroville Elementary principal,” Butler said. “The students and staff have been amazing to welcome me into the Castroville family.”
For the last 20 years, Butler has grown her career within the district, serving in various administrative and educational roles, including Medina Valley Middle School vice principal, Medina Valley High School testing and tutoring coordinator, teacher and coach.
Superintendent Dr. Scott Caloss said Butler has done a great job as an interim principal.
“Her passion, dedication and commitment to the Castroville Elementary students and staff has been evident,” he said. “As she takes on the official role as Principal, we are confident that her leadership will drive continued success for Castroville Elementary.”
There will be a Meet and Greet with Butler on April 9 at 6 p.m. Staff and families will be able to learn more about Butler and ask questions.
