MVISD Employee of the Month for February

Medina Valley I.S.D High School teacher, David (Jose) Salinas, has been named as the February, “Employee of the Month.”  During the month of February, the District honors a high school teacher as the top employee.  He was selected for this award based on his contributions and dedication to the students, the high school campus and the district overall.

Mr. Salinas has been teaching at Medina Valley I.S.D for five years, but has a total of 21 years as a teacher.  He has taught from pre-kinder all the way through high school, starting as a PE teacher and most currently as Industrial Technology teacher.  One of his career highlights over the years happened in 2009 when one of his students won 1st place at Nationals in Kansas City, Missouri for Skills USA Cabinetmaking.  One piece of advice Mr. Salinas shares is to “Love what you do and do what you love.”  Mr. Salinas is the proud father of 2 sons and 1 daughter, David III, Dominic and Ninfa.  He has been married to his wife Ninfa for 28 years and she has also been a teacher for 30 years.
