Besides handling compliance and the distribution of federal funds for the District, the Federal Programs Department also works with many at-risk student populations; such as Migrant, Foster, McKinney-Vento (Homeless), and teen parents. Parental involvement is also supported by the Family Involvement Specialist who safeguards Title I compliance throughout the District and promotes home and school connections.

The Department also provides resources for the economically disadvantaged and works in partnership with the community to provide these services. One of the resources available to our families is attributed to the Medina Valley United Methodist Church. This will be the second year they have donated a variety of healthy snacks and coloring books for students to enjoy during the break. These “Spring Break Backpacks” bring smiles to children throughout our District and most importantly encourages healthy eating during their time at home.
